4EUERKK00
Origin
The Euphorbia ingens, also known as the candelabra cactus, has its origin in the dry regions of Southern Africa. Here, the plant is able to adapt to harsh conditions, including temperatures above 40°C. The species is particularly widespread in areas such as South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Characteristics
The Euphorbia ingens is known for its leafless, branching structure that resembles a candelabra, hence its nickname. The trunks are green and can reach a height of 12 metres, with thick branches splitting at various heights. The plant produces small yellow flowers that appear at the ends of the branches. Although it is a succulent, at first glance the Euphorbia ingens looks like a cactus.
Care
When it comes to the care of the Euphorbia ingens, this plant is relatively low maintenance due to its adaptability to dry conditions. It requires watering during the growing period, but the amount of water should be reduced as winter approaches. The plant performs best under full, direct sunlight and prefers to be placed in a well-draining soil mixture.
