Origin
The Guzmania 'Amoretto' is an exotic houseplant that originally comes from South America. This plant can be found in countries such as Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador where it grows in the shadowy undergrowth of tropical rainforests.
Characteristics
The Guzmania 'Amoretto' is primarily known for its impressive flower, which forms a brightly coloured star in the middle of the plant. The flower has a remarkably long lifespan and remains happily colourful for up to six months. The plant itself stays relatively small, usually not higher than 50 cm and has long, thin green leaves that grow in a rosette shape.
Care
The care of the Guzmania 'Amoretto' is relatively simple, provided the correct conditions are simulated. The plant requires high humidity and should not be placed in direct sunlight. The ideal water temperature is lukewarm and it is recommended to pour the water into the central rosette. A bi-weekly dose of houseplant fertiliser is also beneficial for the growth and flowering of this plant.
