Origin
The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate', also known as the umbrella plant, has its origin in the tropical regions of Australia and New Guinea. It is in these warm and humid climates that the plant can optimally grow. The plant has since spread to various parts of the world where it grows both indoors and outdoors in gardens.

The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate' is a versatile houseplant, characterised by its large, glossy leaves. The leaves form an umbrella-like structure, hence the nickname umbrella plant. With proper care, the plant can reach a height of 4 meters. Furthermore, in its natural environment, the plant produces small red fruits and clusters of flowers, although blooming is rarely observed in indoor plants.
