Origin
The Sansevieria 'Fernwood' is a hybrid plant that originates from West Africa. Reportedly, this strong plant variant has its roots in Nigeria and Congo among others. The Sansevieria 'Fernwood' is a cross between the Sanseveria parva and the Sansevieria suffruticosa, thus possessing both the graceful and robust qualities of its parents.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria 'Fernwood' stands out for its vertical white-green striped, rod-shaped leaves that grow in a rosette. The leaves are long, pointed in shape and have a sturdy texture. It is a relatively small plant species, which can reach an average height of 50 to 60cm. This unique combination of characteristics makes the Sansevieria 'Fernwood' a popular and decorative house plant.
Care
Although the Sansevieria 'Fernwood' is a fairly easy plant to take care of, there are several things to consider. The plant has a moderate need for water, preferring dry conditions over too much water. It is recommended to position the plant in a place with sufficient indirect light, but it also performs well in less illuminated spots. The Sansevieria 'Fernwood' can withstand various temperatures, but prefers temperatures between 15 and 29 degrees Celsius.
