Origin
The Aloe aristata 'Cosmo' originally comes from South Africa. It grows there in rocky areas and desert-like climates. It is native to landscapes with a dry climate, meaning that this plant is adapted to dry conditions and can withstand higher temperatures.
Characteristics
The Aloe aristata 'Cosmo' is characterized by its rosette growth habit and its green, toothed leaves with white bumps. The leaves are thick and fleshy, as they store water for periods of drought. This plant flowers in the summer, producing stems of approximately 30 cm high with orange to coral red flowers. The Aloe aristata 'Cosmo' is also known as Lace Aloe or Torch Plant.
Care
This plant requires little maintenance and is very easy to care for. Since it is adapted to dry conditions, it only needs water occasionally. And although it can withstand higher temperatures, it also does well in temperate climates. It likes a sunny location but can also tolerate partial shade. For healthy growth, this plant needs a well-draining soil and should receive protection against frost during the winter months.
