Origin
The Anthurium 'Jungle King' originates from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. Here, the plant often grows as an epiphyte, establishing itself on other plants without extracting nutrients from them. The plant can be found mainly in the tropical regions of Ecuador and Colombia.

Characteristics
The Anthurium 'Jungle King' is known for its large, heart-shaped leaves that have a shiny, dark green colour. The most striking feature of this house plant is perhaps the large, red bracts which are often confused with flowers. The real flowers are smaller and are located on the peak of the bracts. The species often reaches a height of between 50 and 100 centimetres.

Care
For optimal growth, the Anthurium 'Jungle King' should be placed in a well-draining soil, rich in organic material. The plant prefers a warm, moist environment with plenty of indirect light, but can also grow in lower light. In addition, the plant needs regular watering, but it is important that the soil can partially dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. Maintaining optimal humidity, for example by misting, is also recommended for the health of the plant. The Anthurium 'Jungle King' requires little fertilisation, once a month is sufficient during the growing season.
