Origin
The Adelonema pallidinervium, better known as the Chinese Evergreen, has its origin in the dense tropical rainforests of Asia. The plant is particularly native to the warm and humid environments of China and Thailand, but also naturally occurs in Vietnam and the Philippines.

Characteristics
The Adelonema pallidinervium is part of the Araceae, or arum family, and distinguishes itself by its slender, upright growth. The plant is characterised by its shiny, leather-like leaves, which often display an attractive, silvery veining. Despite its tropical origin, the Adelonema pallidinervium shows a remarkable tolerance for the lower light levels that are typical of indoor environments.

Care
The care of the Adelonema pallidinervium is quite straightforward. The most important thing is that the plant is exposed to sufficient, but indirect light, as too intensive sunlight can damage the leaves. In terms of water needs, these plants prefer a moist, but not saturated soil; excessive watering can lead to root rot. To promote optimal growth, it is advisable to regularly fertilise the plant with a balanced, water-based fertiliser.
