Characteristics
The Pilosocereus pachycladus, also known as the Blue Torch cactus, is characterized by its thick, fleshy, cylindrical trunks that have a blue-grey colour. Each of these trunks has multiple ribs and is covered in fine white hairs. The plant can grow up to 4 metres high and produces inconspicuous flowers in shades of white, yellow or light pink.

Care
Caring for the Pilosocereus pachycladus requires a lot of sunlight and well-draining soil as the plant is sensitive to overwatering. Watering should be moderate and it is advisable to water the plant sparingly in winter. The ideal temperature for the plant is between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius. Repotting is only recommended when necessary, typically once every 2 to 3 years.
