Origin
The Echeveria 'Hercules', originally from the semi-deserts of Central America, is a popular houseplant due to its easy care and aesthetic appearance. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family, also known as succulents. Thanks to its pleasant adaptability, this succulent has the ability to establish itself in various environmental conditions worldwide.
Characteristics
The Echeveria 'Hercules' is a succulent with attractive, symmetrical rosettes. The leaves are fat and fleshy, with a blue-green colour that can become reddish at the edges. This plant tends to stay small, seldom growing to be more than a few centimetres high. In spring and summer, the Echeveria 'Hercules' produces striking flower clusters on tall stalks; the bell-shaped flowers are usually orange or pink.
Care
Although the Echeveria 'Hercules' is an easy plant to care for, it does have a few specific needs. The plant needs a bright, sunny spot to grow, but can burn in direct summer sunlight. Good drainage is essential; a well-draining soil and a planter with drainage holes are therefore recommended. Watering should be done sparingly, especially in winter, to prevent rotting. The Echeveria 'Hercules' is not hardy and should be brought indoors during the winter months in areas with a harsh winter climate.
