Origin
The Ficus binnendijkii Alii, known as the 'Long Alii', originated in Southeast Asia and Northern Australia. In these warm, tropical areas, they grow in the wild, often on the edges of rainforests, where they can develop into large trees.
Characteristics
The Ficus binnendijkii Alii is easily identified by its narrow, dark green leaves that grow upwards. Although the plant can become quite a large tree in the wild, indoors it is often limited to a height of about 2 meters. This plant stands out due to its air-purifying characteristics, making it a healthy addition to one's interior.
Care
When caring for the Ficus binnendijkii Alii, it is important for the plant to have a light to semi-shaded spot in the house. It is recommended to frequently rotate the plant to promote even growth. Ficus binnendijkii Alii prefers slightly moist soil, thus the root ball should not dry out between watering sessions. However, overwatering can lead to root problems, so caution is necessary. The use of low-lime water can help prevent lime deposits on the leaves. During winter months, the plant requires less water than it does in the summer.
