Origin
The Caryota mitis, also known as the clustering fishtail palm, is a species of plant that naturally occurs in the tropical climate of Southeast Asia. This species is native to countries such as India, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Characteristics
The Caryota mitis is a unique palm with its feathered leaves striking due to their unusual shape. The leaves are segmented and each segment takes the form of a fish tail, which is fairly unique in the palm world. This palm can grow up to 12 metres high in optimal conditions and develops numerous trunks, all sprouting from the same rootstock, hence its nickname 'clustering fishtail palm'.
