Origin
The Echeveria parva lindsayana originates from the semi-desert areas of Central America and is primarily found in Mexico. This succulent species is named after the eighteenth-century Spanish botanist Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy. Over the centuries, this plant has adapted to dry, rocky conditions with harsh winds and bright sunlight.
Characteristics
Characteristic of the Echeveria parva lindsayana is its rosette growth pattern. It has thick, blue-green leaves with red tips, which can reach a diameter of about 15 cm. In the spring and summer, this Echeveria produces pink flowers with yellow tips on a long stem, providing an attractive contrast with the leaves. Despite its delicate appearance, this plant is quite robust and can handle drought well.
Care
The Echeveria parva lindsayana requires little maintenance and is therefore a popular choice for beginner gardeners. It thrives best in well-drained, sandy soil and an environment with lots of sunlight. Although the plant is drought tolerant, it still needs water, but overwatering should be avoided as it can lead to root rot. In the winter, the plant should not be exposed to temperatures below 7°C, to prevent frost damage.
