Origin
The Echeveria 'Sagita', also known under the name 'Red Riding Hood', traces its origin back to the dry and rocky areas of Central and South America, specifically in Mexico. This genus of plants belongs to the Crassulaceae family, which consists of approximately 150 species.

Characteristics
The Echeveria 'Sagita' is a succulent type characterized by its compact and rosette-like growth habit. The leaves of this plant are thick and fleshy due to the plant's ability to retain moisture. Their distinguishing characteristic is an intense green colour, which often has a reddish hint at the edges. The flowers that the plant produces are red in colour and bell-shaped.

Care
The Echeveria 'Sagita' has some specific care requirements. The plant likes a bright location, but needs to be protected against midday sun. It requires a soil that drains well and should only be re-watered when the soil is completely dry. Throughout the winter months, the amount of water should be markedly reduced to prevent root rot.
