Origin
The Rhipsalis crispata, also known as the 'Mistletoe Cactus', originates from the rainforests of South America. It has adapted to the shady and humid conditions beneath the rainforest canopy. As an epiphytic plant, the Rhipsalis crispata often grows on the trunks and branches of other trees.

Characteristics
The Rhipsalis crispata belongs to the Cactaceae family and therefore carries certain characteristics typical of cacti. The plant is known for its hanging, fleshy stems that branch off into many small segments. Despite its cactus lineage, the Rhipsalis crispata has no spines but is equipped with tiny hairs on the edges of its segments. Moreover, the plant produces small, white flowers that develop into red fruits.

Care
Like its natural habitat, the Rhipsalis crispata requires a lot of indirect light and high humidity. The plant cannot tolerate direct sunlight and bright sun can harm the plant. The soil needs to be well-draining to prevent the roots from drowning. Although the plant is drought-tolerant, it should be watered regularly, but make sure the soil fully dries out between watering to avoid rot.
