Origin
The Calathea 'Triostar' originates from the tropical forests of Central and South America, where it thrives in warm and humid climatic conditions. The plant belongs to the Marantaceae family and is also known as Stromanthe 'Triostar'.
Characteristics
This special houseplant is characterised by its fascinating three-coloured leaves. The leaf is green, pink and cream-coloured on the upper side and red-purple on the underside. The 'Triostar' reaches an average height of 60 to 90 cm. The plant is a slow grower and closes its leaves in the evening, which produces a rustling sound.
Care
Caring for the Calathea 'Triostar' needs attention but is not complex. The plant requires moderate light, but not direct sunlight. It is important to regularly provide the plant with moist soil, but excessive water needs to be avoided. Although the plant is not particularly sensitive to temperature fluctuations, it prefers room temperature, ideally between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius. Humidity plays a significant role in the health and wellbeing of the 'Triostar', so regular misting is recommended.
