Peperomia caperata 'Rosso' 8/tray
4PEROBP09
Origin
The Begonia Maculata Wightii, also known as Polkadot Begonia, is originally from tropical Brazil. It was discovered in the rainforest in the 19th century by Scottish botanist Robert Wight. The plant belongs to the family Begoniaceae, which includes more than 1800 species.
Characteristics
The Begonia Maculata Wightii is a tall, upright plant with distinctive leaves that are elongated and pointed. The leaves stand out because of their striking pattern of white dots, hence the nickname Polkadot Begonia. The plant often blooms and produces clusters of white or soft pink flowers. Mature specimens can reach a height of 1 meter.
Care
Taking care of the Begonia Maculata Wightii requires a bright, but not directly sunny spot, as the leaves can burn in direct sunlight. The plant prefers a constantly warm climate, similar to its original tropical habitat. Regular watering, without the soil becoming completely dry, is ideal for this plant. The Begonia Maculata Wightii appreciates being lightly fertilised at least once a month during the growing season.
