Origin
The Soleirolia soleirolii 'Aurea', also known as the golden baby's tears, hails from areas around the Mediterranean Sea. They're primarily found in the Balearic Islands, Corsica, and Sardinia. They're typically found in shady spots such as under cliff faces and in forests.

Characteristics
The 'Aurea' is an evergreen, herbaceous plant that is characteristic for its small, bright green leaves. These leaves are robust, fine, and rich in numerous golden yellow leaves, hence the name 'Aurea'. The plant has thin and delicate stems that are interconnected. It's a fast grower, and under optimal conditions, it can form a carpet on the ground.

Care
Caring for the 'Aurea' starts with a shady spot in a moist and well-drained soil. It requires constant, moderate humidity and must absolutely not dry out. Although the plant is hardy, it needs to be protected from severe frost. Furthermore, the 'Aurea' is not very susceptible to diseases and pests, so there's no specific care needed in this area.
