Origin
The Zantedeschia is often known by the name Calla Lily. However, remarkably, this plant is not a true lily, but a member of the Araceae family, originally from Africa. This genus includes eight species that are native to South Africa and Malawi.

Characteristics
Zantedeschias are primarily known for their graceful and trumpet-shaped flowers, which can have a variety of colours - from pure white to bright yellow, pink, purple or even almost black. The leaves are heart-shaped, glossy and dark green in most cases. The plant itself can reach a height of up to 75 centimetres, depending on the species.

Care
Zantedeschias are warmth-loving plants and should be placed in a bright, but not directly sunny environment. They need well-draining soil to prevent the roots from drowning. It is necessary to water the plants regularly, especially during the growing period between late spring and early autumn. However, it is important to reduce watering during the dormant period in winter to prevent the root bulb from rotting. The plant thrives best at a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
