The Saxifraga 'White Pixie' is a variant of the Saxifraga genus, originally from the cool, temperate parts of the northern hemisphere. This plant species has been spread and cultivated worldwide for its ornamental value over the years.
Characteristics
The Saxifraga 'White Pixie' is a small, compact evergreen plant known for its abundant white flowers. The plant grows approximately 10 to 15 centimetres tall and the flowers appear from spring to early summer. The leaves are small, thick and form a cushion-like mass, while the flowers elevate themselves on long stems above the leaves.
Care
In terms of care, the Saxifraga 'White Pixie' has few requirements. The plant prefers a sunny to semi-shadowy location and a well-drained, not too wet soil. To promote growth and flowering, the plant can be lightly pruned back after flowering. Regular watering during dry periods and sporadic feeding with a light fertiliser keeps the plant healthy.
