Origin
The Mandevilla sanderi Summerstar Pink Touch, also known as Dipladenia, originates from Brazil. This plant finds its origin in the tropical rainforest and is named after the British diplomat and plant collector, Henry Frederick Conrad Sander.

Characteristics
The Mandevilla sanderi Summerstar Pink Touch is an elegant climbing plant with beautiful, trumpet-shaped flowers. These flowers have a striking pink colour that is present throughout the entire growing season, from spring to autumn. It is a prolific bloomer with glossy green leaves. The plant can grow up to three metres high, which makes it particularly suitable as a climbing plant against a trellis or pergola.

Care
The Mandevilla sanderi Summerstar Pink Touch has a high light requirement but does not appreciate direct afternoon sun. A location with morning and evening sun is ideal. During the growth period, which runs from March to October, the plant requires a lot of water and it is advised to fertilise once every fourteen days. In contrast, during the dormant period from November to February, the plant should receive less water to avoid root rot. It is important to remember that the plant is not frost hardy and should be protected at temperatures below ten degrees Celsius.
