Lavandula angustifolia 'Arctic Snow'
F00003050
Origin
The Erysimum Fragrant Sunshine, also known under the name Fragrant Sunshine, has its origin in the regions of Central and Southern Europe and Western Asia. It is a perennial plant that belongs to the mustard family (Brassicaceae). Its scientific name is derived from the Greek word Erysimon, meaning saviour or healer, referring to the medicinal properties attributed to the plant in ancient Greece.
Characteristics
The Erysimum Fragrant Sunshine distinguishes itself through its bright yellow flowers, which give off a strong, sweet scent. The flowering period runs from early spring to late summer. This plant usually grows about 75 cm high and develops leaves that are thin, lanceolate, and bright green in colour. The flowers appear in clusters at the ends of the branches.
Care
For optimal growth, Erysimum Fragrant Sunshine needs a place in full sun and moderately fertile, well-draining soil. Older plants often have a waterfall-like growth habit, and it can be useful to lightly prune these after flowering to maintain a compact shape. Watering is usually only necessary during drought. In general, this plant is self-reliant and requires minimal care, but can be sensitive to pests such as whitefly and powdery mildew.
