Origin
The Pachyphytum 'Corvus', also known as the Crow Plant, originates from the dry, rocky areas of Mexico. It belongs to the family of the Crassulaceae, a group of succulents. Over the centuries, this plant has spread all over the world, partially due to its interesting aesthetic characteristics and ability to survive in extreme conditions.
Characteristics
The Pachyphytum 'Corvus' distinguishes itself by its large, plump leaves that have a unique bluish-green colour with a silver-like sheen. Each leaf is oval in shape and can grow up to 2.5 centimetres long. The plant produces striking orange-red flowers with yellow tips in the spring and early summer. During the flowering period, the flowers grow in dense clusters at the top of the plant.
Care
The Pachyphytum 'Corvus' requires minimal care and thrives best in well-draining soil. It is important to place the plant in an environment with plenty of light, but direct sunlight should be avoided as it can bleach the leaves. Overwatering should be avoided, the soil needs to be completely dry between watering. During the winter months, the water supply should be reduced and the plant can withstand temperatures down to -1°C. With this care, the Pachyphytum 'Corvus' can grow up to 30 cm tall and wide.
