Bismarckia nobilis (300-400)
Stem (60-80)

Origin
The Washingtonia robusta, also known as the Mexican fan palm, originates from the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is found in dry, hot areas. Nowadays, the plant can be found worldwide in subtropical and Mediterranean areas.
Characteristics
The Washingtonia robusta is a standing, evergreen palm with a slender, straight trunk that can grow up to 25 meters high. The leaves are fan-shaped and can reach a diameter of up to 1 meter. The inflorescence is a plume with cream-coloured flowers, followed by small, round, black fruits.
Care
For the best growth, the Washingtonia robusta requires a location in full sun with well-draining soil. The palm grows best when it regularly receives water and does not like prolonged droughts. It is resistant to light frost but needs to be protected during severe frost. Potted specimens require regular fertilising to support growth.
