Origin
The Tradescantia zebrina, also known as the Zebrina pendula, has its origin in Central and South America. It is a popular houseplant that belongs to the Commelinaceae family. The natural habitat of this plant includes tropical and subtropical regions.

Characteristics
The Tradescantia zebrina distinguishes itself by its beautiful leaves that are a mix of purple, silvery and green hues. These vibrant colours tend to become brighter when the plant is placed in bright indirect light. The plant is a fast-growing hanging plant and can reach up to 6 feet (1.8 metres) in length. The flowers of the Tradescantia zebrina are small and pink, but the plant is especially loved for its beautiful foliage.

Care
