Philodendron 'Ring of Fire' 12/tray
4PHRFBP06
Origin
The Ceropegia woodii subsp. woodii, better known as the Chain of Hearts, originates from southern Africa. The plant was named after John Medley Wood, who first discovered it in South Africa during the nineteenth century. In the wild, the plant mainly grows in forests on rocky slopes and in coastal areas.
Characteristics
Ceropegia woodii subsp. woodii is a strongly branched, repeat flowering hanging plant. The plant has thin, thread-like stems with heart-shaped leaves. The leaves often have a striking silver-like pattern. The flowers are 2 cm long, bell-shaped, and typically exhibit two-tone shades, ranging from dark purple to greenish yellow.
Care
The Ceropegia woodii subsp. woodii has few care requirements and is relatively easy to maintain. The plant requires a light, but not directly sunny place. In addition, the plant needs well-draining soil, and overwatering should be avoided. The Ceropegia woodii subsp. woodii has a relatively low appreciation for moisture and can therefore survive periods of drought. Finally, it is important to moderately feed the plant with a water-soluble fertilizer.
