In Nieuwkoop Europe's industrial spray cabin, where we can spray your planters in any RAL colour*, we now fully use water-based paint. This is better for people, animals and the environment. In this blog, you can read about what other advantages there are to this.
Sustainability and health
Sustainability and employee health are important principles in Nieuwkoop Europe's business operations. The decision to replace the paint in our spray booth with water-based paints is therefore in line with our CSR pillars. We like to make the transition to a greener company together with our suppliers and chain partners. For spray paints, we have therefore chosen a new paint supplier, Adler, which offers us the healthiest and most sustainable solution with its water-based formula. Adler also operates 100% climate-neutral and takes its responsibility for people, animals and the environment very seriously.
Advantages of water-based paints
Water-based paints contain a significantly lower proportion of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) compared to solvent-based paints. These VOCs harm both the environment and the health of the person inhaling them. Switching to water-based paint therefore has positive effects on the health of our industrial sprayers and the environment, but also on fire safety, for example.
The composition of water-based paints is so advanced that it is no longer inferior to solvent-based paints. For instance, the lacquers have a high scratch and weather resistance, are colour-stable and wear-resistant, and – as a major advantage – have a higher flexibility. Also, the drying time has remained almost the same, so the switch to water-based paints does not affect the delivery time of the sprayed planters.
Planters in any RAL colour
Several planters from our range can be sprayed in our spray cabin in any RAL colour*, such as the Baq Ecoline collection. These planters are made of recycled plastic. This material comes from products that already have a useful life behind them, such as old phones, computers and car bumpers. In this way, old, used products are given a second life.
